About Us

Dear Visitors ,

If you were wondering who we are then you have come to the right page !

David Warther is a carver in a family of carvers dating back to the early 1800's when his great-great-grandfather was a wood carver and cabinet maker in Switzerland. David's grandfather was a wood and ivory carver here in America while David's father was a knife maker who also worked in ivory. Growing up in a family of carvers David started working in wood and ivory at age 3 and made his first ship carving at age 6.

By purchasing antique elephant tusks from within the United States David continues to work in legal ivory. While we purchase uncarved ivory tusks we do not purchase carved tusks, scrimshaw, jewelry or other worked pieces of ivory. We do purchase pre-act narwhal or narwhale tusks at times.

As an active purchaser of antique tusks we adhere to the laws of the United States and we do not purchase tusks from outside the US. The US African Elephant Conservation Act does not allow for the international transport of ivory to the United States so we only purchase antique elephant ivory tusks from within the United States.

Sincerely,

David Warther
