The Warther Ivory Carving Collection

The Warther Carving Collection of Sugarcreek, Ohio is a unique art collection located in Ohio's Amish community. Each carving is made of legal antique ivory from elephant tusks purchased from within the USA from estate, museum and private collections of elephant ivory tusks.To see the work of the carver please click on a photo below. Each ship carving you see is unique and even the lines and rigging are made of finely worked ivory - most rigging lines are 7 thousandths of an inch in diameter - about twice the thickness of a human hair.
